Wandering 13,500 miles of our wondrous northern neighbor

The sesquicentennial (150th) celebration for our dear friends in Canada is just six years away in 2017. One phase of the festivities will include the completion of the world’s longest trail – the Trans-Canada. At a final length of 13,500 miles (or 22,500 kilometers) the Trans Canada Trail will be enormous – stretching across the continent east to west and from the United States border on the south to the Arctic Ocean on the north.

First envisioned in 1992, the Trans Canada Trail is to be completed in 2017. More information on the trail are available through this weblink to an article by Gerry Donohue. What a terrific way to commemorate your nation’s founding, eh. Personally, I am looking forward to hiking many segments of the trail and enjoying the stunning beauty of Canada.
